I'm considering buying a film scanner and I was wondering how do I need to prepare the film before scanning it. I don't know how to develop film myself and for all the film that I have, taking it to the photolab can be significantly more expensive.|||Just make sure that there is no dust on the negative or transparency before you scan them. You can use a ultra clean camel hair brush and some compressed air.
To save money, you can have the film developed only (no prints or mounts).|||You can't scan film right from the camera. I'm not sure if that's what the question is asking, but all film must be developed before scanning.
