I have a bunch of rolls of 35mm film from 2006. From what I've read it's not worth it to take photos with it because it's expired and the color will be off and the photos will have spots, if they turn out at all. Now I wonder can I just throw it away? Is there any chemicals I have to worry about? Can they be recycled?|||Give it to a high school photography club.|||While it may be expired and possibly a little off in color and characteristics. There's lot of people who appreciate expired film. Just for the look.
Sell them on ebay, give them to a lomographic group. LOMO's appreciate expired film.
By the way, if the film was cold stored (refrigerated or frozen) it should be still OK. Considering it's a low to medium speed film.|||2006? That's only three years old. You likely won't have too many (if any) issues with it. Bring it to a professional lab when getting it developed, as opposed to a pharmacy. Tell them it's past its expiration date and they'll compensate when printing for any colour shifts. I got film developed (it was already exposed) from sometime around the 80's. It looked perfectly fine. If you don't want it still, you can send it to me.|||Sometimes expired film can produce some pleasing results. Try shooting a roll and see how it looks. You would be stupid to throw it away.
Either give it away to photographer friends or sell it on eBay.
.|||Call your local recycling center. They should be able to tell you how to dispose of it safely.
If the film had been frozen or even refrigerated it would still be good.|||use it. it will be fine.
But if not just throw it in the trash?1?!
