How can I remove grout film from my new floor?

It's peal and stick floor tiles with beveled edges for optional grouting. I grouted the floor and used a large sponge to remove the excess grout. Then pulled a clean/water towel over it. A film remained so I used the recommended cleaner called "Banish". The film is still there. Help!|||I've never heard of grouting peel and stick floor tiles. I'm assuming they are vinyl. With porcelain or ceramic etc. you just wash and wash and wash untill it comes up. My husband sponge washed ours multiple times and then I sat down on the floor with a spray bottle of cleaner and a roll of paper towels and washed each tile individually three or four times...as many as it took untill it was clean and then dried it to be sure it was all off. We tiled 1200 sq. feet all at one time so it was not an easy task. Don't be too surprised if your grout starts to crack because that is the reason that you have to lay the tile board underneath and make such a solid surface under the tile before you lay it. It's to keep the floor from moving around and cracking the grout. Maybe if its on a concrete floor. I don't know, I've just never seen or heard of grouting peel and stick tiles. Good luck.|||You can purchase a premixed cleaner but the best thing you can use to clean any masonry product from a surface is Muratic acid. The same acid you purchase to alter the PH in a swimming pool. It is sold in the pool supply section of your local home store or Ace hardware type places.

Handle with care. Dilute with 4 parts of cool water to 1 part acid in a non metal container. You should wear hand protection however, at this mixture you would have to have pretty sensitive skin to have a problem. The acid mixture will do the work so you need only apply the mixture with a rag and follow immediately afterwards with a rag rinsed in clean water occasionally.|||a light film is normal and one way to remove it is to use a burlap bag as a buffer or something similar and rough. Leave the sponge alone for a while.|||You can try a grout %26amp; tile rinse..|||HOme Depot or Lowes make a special product made just for this purpose. Just ask them.
