I need to buy film for my Minolta X-700. I've heard that 800 speed film is good, but I would like more suggestions.|||Well, it depends on the type of photographs that you'd like to take. Here is a simple chart you can reference:
ISO 100: Sunny Conditions
ISO 200: Bright Conditions
ISO 400: Cloudy or Indoor Conditions
ISO 800: Dimly Lit Conditions / Action
ISO 1600: Very Dim or Dark Conditions / Action
|||Depends on what you're shooting. 100 or 200 is good for well lit. 400 or 800 is good for dimly lit. The higher the film speed, the more grain you'll get.|||it really depends. if you want to take pictures in a lot of light, like outdoors, use 400. 800 is more light-sensitive and might be nice if you're shooting with less light. i like to use 1600 film, which is very light-sensitive. it must be developed perfectly in order to reduce grain, but it gives a lot of contrast and enables a deep depth of field.|||If this is for a photo class I suggest 400 ISO film. This is the film that most schools recommend for beginning photo classes. It is really a good all around film. It is good in most normal conditions without being excessively grainy. Most of the chemicals in school darkrooms are also set up to develop 400 speed film. Ask your teachers for some suggestions. Other than that as the other answerers said it depends on the conditions your shooting under and you desired effect.
