Would opening the back while winding film cause leaks, or just ruin the whole roll?
I have a nikon fm2.|||It would ruin the whole roll, except for whatever may be safely in the film canister, as previously mentioned. Light leaks are caused by tiny cracks allowing enough light in to expose only sections of the film.|||Opening the back would definitely ruin your images. Have you considered buying a "toy" camera like a Holga or Diana? You can find them on Ebay for $25 or so, and they'll give you lots of light leaks!|||If the back come all the way open then most of the film was ruined. What was already rolled into the film cassette should be okay.
